THE SALES PLAYBOOK - February Edition

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER, KRISTY DAVIES-SUMPTER

Client work is in full swing. Diaries are filling up. Meetings are back to back.

And this is exactly when sales focus can begin to drift without you noticing. Just that small shift from proactive to reactive can have big consequences.

So here is your February checkpoint.

Looking at your pipeline today, are you confident it will support your revenue goals for March and April?

Not “hopefully”.
Not “if a couple come through”.
I mean *Confidently*.

Being busy is not the same as building revenue.

I'd urge you to make February about protecting the momentum you started in January, and not allow it to taper off.

This month's Sales Playbook will most definitely help!
Enjoy the read...

Discipline Over Motivation

Motivation gets you started.
Discipline keeps revenue predictable.

Sales can't be something you do when you feel like it. It must be a system you protect.

This month, ask yourself three simple questions:

  • How many active conversations do I have right now?
  • How many are genuinely qualified?
  • How many have a clear, agreed next step?

If any opportunity does not have a defined next step, it is at risk of drifting.

Set minimum sales standards for yourself! For example:

  • All leads must leave a conversation with a next action agreed
  • Every week must include proactive outreach to at least 5 people
  • Every month must include a full pipeline review

Small structure prevents big pressure later.

Where Revenue Slips Away

Revenue can often slip away in a conversation, and you don't even realise it.

In the moments where you soften a question.
Don't challenge.
Avoid asking directly for a decision.

We try to stay comfortable, but it ends up VERY uncomfortable financially!

Here are four subtle ways revenue drifts:

  • Accepting “we need to think about it” without asking what specifically needs thinking through
  • Agreeing to “send some information” instead of progressing the conversation or booking a follow-up
  • Talking features instead of outcomes and impact

I know it feels polite and professional but it doesn't move things forward.

So, if you want stronger results this month, focus on sharper conversations:

  • When someone hesitates, ask what is holding them back
  • When someone says they will review, ask when you will speak again
  • When someone says they are interested, ask what they need to proceed

The businesses that grow are not the ones having braver conversations.

THE SALES PLAYBOOK - September Edition
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER, KRISTY DAVIES-SUMPTER Here’s a question I frequently ask when I’m speaking or training: If every prospect you’re currently talking to said “no” tomorrow, what would you have coming in behind them? Be honest. Would there be another group of opportunities waiting in the wings? Or a whole lot of nothing? This is where the feast-and-famine sales cycle often starts. We get b...
THE SALES PLAYBOOK - August Edition
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER, KRISTY DAVIES-SUMPTER   “There’s no point doing much sales activity. Everyone’s on holiday.” Have you found yourself saying this during August? It’s an easy trap to fall into. The pace changes. People are away. Diaries are disrupted. And before you know it, most of August has disappeared with prospecting and follow-up sitting on the back burner. But there’s still time t...
THE SALES PLAYBOOK - July Edition
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER, KRISTY DAVIES-SUMPTER   Every day, we ask our prospects to make decisions. We ask them to invest. To trust us. To take action. To stop putting things off. But before we ever speak to a prospect, we've already had another conversation. The one with ourselves. "I'll do it this afternoon.""They're probably too busy.""I'll send that follow-up tomorrow." Does that sound fami...
